Set in the picturesque rural precinct of the Mornington Peninsula, the Rain, Hayne & Shine Farmyard provides hands on experiences with a large variety of friendly farm animals to feed and cuddle. You will be amazed at the variety and quantity of animals residing on the farm. We even have a few native species in addition to the domestic stock. Come and feel the sheeps wool, discover how big a baby calf is and just how large a pig can grow. Listen to the noisy donkeys, meet Lizzie and Smokey the two wonderful ponies who love giving rides to the children and Sandy the cheeky goat who loves to nibble your clothes while towing a cart full of happy children. Sometimes you may be lucky enough to be present to watch an egg hatching in the incubator or to witness a live birth of piglets, kids or lambs and watch as they take their first wobbly steps. Bring a picnic for a relaxing family day at the farm that is suitable for all ages. Being centrally located on the Mornington Peninsula makes the farm yard an easy day trip from Melbourne but we suggest you extend your stay and visit some of the other wonderful attractions in the area. There is the natural beauty of the many beaches on the Mornington Peninsula, from the safe sandy family beaches to the rugged surf beaches with exciting treasures to explore in the rock pools at low tide, while on the water there is plenty happening too- yachting, motor boats, ferries, fishing tours, diving and sight seeing tours with sightings of dolphins and seals a possibility. There are many beautiful walking tracks both on the coast and through our native bushland and of course there are a multitude of vineyards, galleries, gardens, restaurants, golf, farm gate produce and wonderful and unique places to stay.
